  • – Cake:
  • – 1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix
  • – ½ cup butter, melted
  • – 1 egg
  • – 2nd Layer:
  • – 8 large Peanut Butter Cups
  • – 3 small Butterfinger Candy Bars
  • – Cream Cheese Layer:
  • – 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • – 1 cup peanut butter
  • – 3 eggs
  • – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • – ½ cup butter, melted
  • – 4 cups confectionery sugar
  • – Chocolate Topping:
  • – ½ cup chocolate chips
  • – 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius), or 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius) if using a glass pan.
  • 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Beat until well combined. Spray a 9 x 12-inch pan with cooking spray, then spread the cake mix layer evenly over the bottom of the pan and pat it down.
  • 3. Cut the large peanut butter cups into 4 pieces and roughly chop the Butterfinger candy bars. Spread them evenly over the cake layer.
  • 4. In another mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the melted butter, then gradually add the confectionery sugar, mixing until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the candy bar layer.
  • 5. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until the center is puffed up and slightly jiggly. If using a glass pan, it may take just over an hour. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  • 6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips for 1 minute. Add the vegetable or canola oil and stir until combined. Spread the chocolate topping over the top of the cream cheese layer.
  • 7. Once cooled, slice into squares and serve. Enjoy the rich, indulgent flavors!
