In a series of heartwarming images, a baby elephant was spotted peeking over a wall in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, drawing comparisons to the iconic “Kilroy Was Here” cartoon.
This playful calf appeared to be attempting a drink of water, with its small trunk barely reaching beneath the surface.
Guide Robbie Prehn captured the charming photos at the Balule Nature Reserve, part of the greater Kruger area.
One photo shows the calf’s mother demonstrating how to easily reach the water, a gentle lesson from an experienced trunk.
The resemblance to the “Kilroy Was Here” cartoon—featuring a large-nosed figure looking over a wall, fingers gripping the edge—brings a nostalgic touch.
Originally popularized during World War II, Kilroy’s image has since appeared on famous landmarks around the globe, adding a fun historical twist to this delightful wildlife moment.
