Ayo, a three-week-old baby elephant, doesn’t mind getting wet! Named on Sunday after the word for “luck,” Ayo celebrated his new name by splashing around in a small paddling pool for delighted visitors at Germany’s Bergzoo in Halle (Saale).
Enjoying a refreshing shower from a bucket of water, Ayo looked thrilled as he waded through the cool pool, even pausing for a sip.
Born on August 3, just a few weeks after his half-sister Tamika’s arrival in June, Ayo and Tamika have quickly become favorites among zoo guests.
While elephants are often tied to superstitions about luck—especially those with trunks raised high for good fortune—Ayo kept his trunk down as he played, enjoying the moment without worrying about tradition.
