The elephants worked together, using their trunks to try and pull the calf up the slick bank. It took several minutes of effort, but the determined group finally cradled the young elephant with their trunks and lifted it to safety.
Rudi, who was visiting the park with his family, described the moment: “The baby slipped down the ledge while drinking, and we were horrified. We realized if it drowned, there was nothing we could do to help.” He added, “It was an incredible sight, something I don’t think I’ll ever witness again.”
This remarkable rescue showcases elephants’ strong bonds and teamwork, highlighting their protective nature towards their young.
