A remarkable video has surfaced showing a family of elephants casually helping themselves to a breakfast buffet while stunned tourists look on.
The footage, filmed at an open-air dining area in Zambia, captures the
moment an elephant explores a table filled with tea and coffee at the back
of the room. Soon, another elephant and a young calf join the first one
under the thatched roof.
One of the larger elephants extends its trunk over a group of American tourists, grabbing toast and jam from their plates and knocking over cups. The young calf also begins searching the table for food.
As the elephants circle the table, the tourists sit stiffly, barely moving, seemingly afraid to attract the animals’ attention. However, the elephants seem uninterested in the people, focusing only on the bread baskets nearby.
After a few moments, the elephants leave the dining area, much to the relief of the frozen guests who remained still throughout the visit.
One of the tourists, clearly frustrated, remarked, “They can’t see you unless you talk or move. We were in danger.” Another responded, “Shut up! It’s not funny.”
Since being shared on social media on Wednesday, the clip has attracted hundreds of views and comments.
One person humorously noted, “They seemed polite, just enjoying breakfast like everyone else—toast and coffee to start the day.”
